We take the view that the current proposal for a certification framework for carbon removal, including carbon farming, will encourage green marketing, will not deliver real climate action and may harm local communities.
The 27 signatories have therefore called on members of the Council of the European Union and Members of the European Parliament to ensure that support for land-based action works for the climate, people and nature. It will also lead to a fair transformation of agriculture.
