On 14th May 2026, a lecture was delivered at the University of Warsaw by guest speaker Dr Paweł Radzikowski, representing IUNG-PIB and OSA. The lecture, entitled “Organic farming and the future of agriculture. International institutions and organisations working to sustain agriculture and food production” was delivered to a group of around 20 students representing Poland and other EU countries; students from the USA and Turkey were also present. They were presented with the history and current state of European agriculture, including prevailing directions and trends, the principles of the Common Agricultural Policy, the main institutions involved in agriculture, and the results of research and scientific projects. Crucially for the REFOREST project, its structure, objectives, network of Living Labs, and selected project results were presented. The project is an excellent example of international institutional collaboration aimed at demonstrating the strengths of agroforestry and its broader future implications for modern agriculture. In a similar vein, the collaboration within the Value4Farm project was highlighted; this project aims to develop and replicate modern protocols for biogas and electricity production from agro-photovoltaics across Europe. The presentation was well received by the students, despite its rather long duration (approx. 2 hours), and a discussion lasting about half an hour followed. Subsequently, students from the University of Warsaw and exchange students delivered their own presentations on similar topics.
